A West Virginia judge is apparently not performing marriage ceremonies for any couples.

This is after he received a warning for discriminating against same-sex couples from the West Virginia Judicial Investigation Commission.

According to Fairness West Virginia, a Civil Rights advocacy organization focusing on LGBTQ+ rights, they conducted phone surveys which led them to find that Judge Lynn Nelson was not performing marriages for same-sex couples.

The group filed a complaint to the state judicial investigation commission which led to Nelson getting a warning in October of 2018.

Judge Nelson, who presides in Grant, Mineral and Tucker counties, has not yet responded to requests for comment because his secretary says he is working on a murder trial in Grant County.
