A former Peekskill resident was arrested in Tennessee recently and accused of a Montrose bar stabbing more than two years ago.

Erick Grigoroff was wanted in connection with a melee outside Fulgum's on Feb. 18, 2017, when four people were stabbed, state police said.

Police said on Thursday that Grigoroff, a 28-year-old felon who spent time in prison for a previous Cortlandt bar assault, fled New York shortly after the stabbing, and that he was recently captured near Memphis by the Shelby County Sheriff's Office and U.S. Marshals.

Fulgum's is a restaurant and bar at 2151 Albany Post Road in Montrose, a hamlet of Cortlandt. The day of the attack, state police said they responded to a large altercation at the bar around 2:30 a.m. with police from Buchanan, Croton-on-Hudson, Peekskill, and Westchester County.

The confrontation spilled into the street and neighboring parking lots, and four people were stabbed "in the ensuing melee," police said in a statement the day of the assault. All four people were taken to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, police said.

Grigoroff was been extradited to New York, and is being held at the Westchester County jail. He was arraigned in Westchester County Court on Tuesday on felony charges of first-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, court records show.

Grigoroff, who also faces a parole violation, is due back in court on July 9.

Grigoroff spent time in prison from 2009 to 2016 for second-degree assault, a felony, in Westchester County, according to the state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.

He was living in Lake Peekskill, a section of Putnam Valley, at the time of the assault, which took place at Popeye's Pub in Cortlandt on Nov. 8, 2008, court records show.

In that assault, Grigoroff fired a handgun and seriously injured someone, according to records. He pleaded guilty to assault in that case.
