SPRING VALLEY — Firefighters rescued three people from a fire at a senior housing complex in Spring Valley this morning.

Office Matthew Galli of the Spring Valley Police Department told The Journal News/lohud that a fire at the Sycamore Crest Apartment complex at 15 Summit Ave. left three people trapped on the top floor of the four-story building.

Two of the three people rescued were bedridden, he said, and first responders were able to rescue a woman through a window at the fourth floor of the complex after she was unable to exit due to heavy smoke blocking the hallway. Firefighters used a ladder to get her out.
