The Mayor’s Violence Reduction Unit is hosting a virtual discussion on the evening of Wednesday, 10 June. As part of our public health apporach to violence reduction, we are keen to work with parents, carers, and the wider community to develop our approach and shape our parent support workstream.
We would like to invite you to join us for this conversation so we can:
- hear about your experiences (positive and otherwise) of parent support, especially support targeted at parents/carers of those at risk of violence
- gain insight into effective support models/approaches: the focus of it, length of intervention, type of person/organisation delivering etc
- hear your thoughts on what support for parents should be prioritised during COVID-19 and beyond
- share and hear feedback from you about our current plans
We are particularly keen to hear from parents and carers of children and young people who have had or are experiencing violence or related issues such as missing, substance misuse, mental health, exploitation, gangs, school exclusion and unhealthy relationships.
The meeting will take place on Zoom. Details will be sent on the day.
Please email [email protected] to confirm your attendance by Monday, 9 June.
If you know other parents or carers who might be interested in attending, please forward this page to them.
