New Zealand captain Dallin Watene-Zelezniak has signed an 18-month deal with Canterbury following his release from Penrith.

The 23-year-old – who has already earned 11 caps for the Kiwis – will link up with the Bulldog immediately.

Watene-Zelezniak made his NRL debut for the Panthers back in 2014 and scored 41 tries in 106 appearances for the club.

Bulldogs chief executive Andrew Hill commented: “The acquisition of Dallin is fantastic news for the club and the vision we have going forward.
