Ellis Gillam re-joins Whitehaven

Whitehaven have re-signed back-rower Ellis Gillam from Rochdale.

Gilliam, 22, left the Cumbrians for the Championship side at the end of last season, and comes in to cover a Whitehaven squad that has lost Scott McAvoy, Jake Moore and Brett Phillips in recent weeks.

He said: “I am very happy to be back up at Whitehaven and playing once again with my mates. I can’t wait to hopefully be selected and play rugby with a smile on my face in what is a tight knit group.”

Gillam made 14 appearances for Rochdale, scoring one try.
