Welcome to this week’s Friday Recruiting Roundup!

There are several recruits Michigan is going after that are planning on making their final decision soon. One recruit is actually making his decision later tonight.

Let’s dive in!

Zach Harrison making decision next week

According to Ari Wasserman of The Athletic, 5-star defensive end Zach Harrison — likely Michigan’s final chance to land a 5-star in the 2019 class — is making his decision known on Twitter Dec. 19 and will be sending in his letter of intent.

This decision should not come as a surprise. Harrison has made it known this recruiting process has been stressful on him and his family, and having it be low-key like this seems like a fitting way to end his recruitment.

The three schools it comes down to are the three we have all talked about before — Michigan, Ohio State and Penn State. My gut feeling is still leaning toward Harrison signing with Ohio State, but on the other hand he loves linebackers coach Al Washington and a ton of the guys in Michigan’s 2019 class.

This will be a photo finish, but I’m giving the lean to OSU. Let’s hope I am wrong.

4-star OT deciding tonight

Michigan’s been recruiting 4-star offensive lineman Trevor Keegan for what seems like forever.

Tonight, it all ends.

Keegan is expected to make his decision tonight at 7:30 p.m. EST. It is down to Michigan, Penn State and Georgia.

In my opinion, this thing seems like a Big Ten battle between Michigan and Penn State. Georgia made a surge late in the recruitment, but both Michigan and Penn State seem like the likely landing spots for the No. 1 player in the state of Illinois. Keegan visited Penn State last weekend and also received an in-home visit from James Franklin and company last week.

However, if I had a crystal ball I’d give my prediction to the Maize and Blue. He has family in the area and his mom and dad have mentioned several times how much they like the university, the coaches and how close it is to home. The Keegan’s also have other family in the state of Michigan, giving Harbaugh and company something Franklin doesn’t.

I would expect good news for Michigan later tonight.

4-star WR also announcing decision next week

Much like Harrison, Michigan’s top remaining target at the wide receiver position is set to announce his future college on Dec. 19.

4-star Cornelius Johnson will be signing his letter of intent and announcing his final decision on Dec. 19, the first day of the early signing period.

Johnson is one of Michigan’s final targets at the position, along with 3-star Baylor commit Jaylen Ellis. However, I believe Johnson would be the better addition to the class, as he is a much bigger wideout than Ellis — 6-foot-3 to 6-foot — and Michigan already has a plethora of speedy, smaller offensive weapons.

With 5-star Kyle Ford electing to spend his final official visit on USC instead of Michigan, Johnson is the last shot at landing a bigger receiver in the class. 3-star Trevon Raphael (6-foot-3) is another receiver interested in U-M, but it looks like the Wolverines have cooled off a bit on his recruitment. He is probably a backup option if Johnson heads elsewhere.

4-star LB to visit this weekend

2019 4-star linebacker Anthony Solomon is visiting Michigan this weekend, according to his Twitter account.

The Wolverines are looking to add one more linebacker to its 2019 class. It appears the final two high-end options at this point are Solomon, a Miami (FL) commit, and 4-star Kalen DeLoach, a Florida State commit that admitted his recruitment is open.

DeLoach plans on signing next week, so we will definitely know by then if Michigan will have to do much recruiting the rest of the way for the linebacker position.

That’s all for this week! Remember, Keegan is announcing at 7:30 p.m. We will have an article for you right here on Maize n Brew right after his announcement.
