Happy Friday, folks. It’s time for another Michigan Recruiting Roundup!

We have a lot to hit, so let’s get right to the news everyone wants to hear.

5-star in-state OL visiting Michigan again this weekend

He was at Michigan basketball’s win over Maryland last weekend, and now he will be at Michigan’s rivalry game against MSU this weekend, according to The Michigan Insider’s Steve Lorenz ($). “He” being in-state 2020 5-star offensive lineman Justin Rogers.

Offensive line coach Ed Warinner and the rest of the staff have done a good job getting Rogers on campus often and keeping the Wolverines in the recruitment. It wasn’t looking good for Michigan early on, but getting the top recruit in the state on campus two weekends in a row is quite telling.

4-star OL sets U-M visit weekend

Originally reported by TMI’s Brice Marich ($), Maize n Brew is able to confirm 2020 4-star offensive lineman Andrew Gentry is expected to visit Ann Arbor the weekend of March 29.

This will be an unofficial visit for the No. 114 overall player in his class. He is also expected to officially visit later this year.

“This is my first visit (to Michigan), so I’m pretty open to just getting an overall feel of the football program and school,” Gentry told Maize n Brew.

Gentry has never been on campus, so this is a great step in the right direction for this recruitment.

3-star Ohio CB has Michigan as one of his ‘dream’ schools

Defensive backs coach Michael Zordich was busy handing out offers this past week, and one of those was to 3-star Dayton, Ohio cornerback Sammy Anderson.

“I found out on the phone (with Coach Zordich),” Anderson told Marich ($). “I was happy because that’s the one of my dream schools.

“It means a lot and it is going to boost my recruitment.”

With other offers from the likes of Purdue, Indiana, Duke, West Virginia and others, Michigan is by far Anderson’s top offer. He is currently in basketball season, but plans on visiting Ann Arbor when basketball season ends.

Top 100 CB ‘super pumped’ by Michigan offer

Clark Phillips III, a native of La Habra, California, is the No. 5 cornerback and the No. 55 overall player in the 2020 class. He received an offer from Michigan defensive backs coach Michael Zordich last week, and I caught up with him to get his thoughts on the offer.

“Super pumped,” Phillips III told Maize n Brew about receiving his offer. “(Michigan is a) great school.”

Phillips III has visits lined up for Notre Dame, Ohio State and Cal. When asked if he will visit Michigan soon, he kept it real.

“Not sure yet,” he said. “Plan to do many visits. But just haven’t sorted out all schools yet.”

The main thing he is looking for in his future home is the “best fit overall.”

Junior year highlights are below.

That’s all for this week! Be sure to tune back in on Monday for more recruiting news.
