Real Madrid have published an injury report on Brahim Diaz, who suffered a thigh injury in training.

After the tests carried out today on our player Brahim Diaz by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a muscular injury to the anterior part of his right thigh. His recovery will continue to be assessed.

Brahim was ready to make his first appearance of the year after missing the whole preseason with a left hamstring injury. This is a different injury than the one he picked up early in the summer, but it’s very bad news for Madrid and obviously Brahim himself as the player was expected to compete for a spot in the starting XI after Marco Asensio’s injury.

Brahim was a relevant player for Zinedine Zidane during the last few games of the 2018-2019 season and the French coach wanted to keep him around instead of sending him on a loan deal.

The attacker will need around three or four weeks to properly recover from this injury and then he will need to improve his conditioning in order to be ready to play, given that he missed the whole preseason stage.
