Footage has emerged of a boy swinging a meat cleaver at a school pupil during a fight in Oldham.

A mobile phone clip shows a youth in a hoody pulling the weapon on another boy as they fought near the Toby Carvery in Chadderton.

The video, shared widely on social media, shows a big group of students gathered around the two boys as they start throwing punches.

The pair drop to the floor as they fight, while other kids surround them and join in. Two other boys appear to be fighting in the background.

As one of the scrapping teens falls back into a hedge, the boy in a tracksuit appears to pull a meat cleaver from beneath his clothing.

He then starts swiping at the boy in the bush with the cleaver before waving it at other kids in the crowd.

The fight is understood to have happened on Thursday.
