Police are at the scene of an incident in north Manchester.

It's understood they were called to Woodland Road, on the Cheetham Hill/Crumpsall border, just after 11am on Friday.

GMP are yet to release details on what has actually happened, however witnesses at the scene say a man was dragged from a car.

This has not yet been confirmed.

Photos from Woodland Road show a black Vauxhall Corsa surrounded by police vehicles.

The damaged car

The driver-side window has been smashed in, and there is a large dent on the door above the handle.

Shattered glass covers the floor next to it, what looks like some form of metal pipe or tool lies close by on the pavement.

GMP said: "We were called at 11.10am to an incident on Woodland Road."

Neighbour saw 'two lads in balaclavas'

Reporter Chris Slater has been speaking to people who live near to where the smashed up Corsa was discovered.

He said: “I’ve just spoken to a resident who lives nearby who says he saw a silver car, he thinks a Polo, speeding up and down the road several times at around midday.

“He says it then did a handbrake turn near the junction with Greenhill Road and two young lads wearing balaclavas got out.

“He says he could hear them shouting and went back inside. When he came out again he says the window of the black car was smashed.”
