Manchester is now the footballing capital of Europe, and both City and United stars have hit the headlines recently as a result of their cars - so we decided to take a look exactly which motors  our football stars have in their garages and on their private driveways.

Sergio Aguero

It appears City legend Sergio Aguero may have got himself a new set of wheels.

In the past few years, the prolific Argentinian, who joined City in 2011, was frequently pictured driving a Lamborghini Aventador, powered by a 691bhp V12 engine. It costs just over £260,000 to buy.

However, he was pictured recently in a black Ferrari for the first time during a trip to the village of Hale Barns.

The 18 plate Ferrari GTC4 Lusso is said to be worth around £230,000.

His love for the Italian brand was no secret having previously been pictured driving one whilst on holiday in California.

However like many of our top players, 30 year-old Aguero is believed to have a fleet of cars he used for different occasions.

Ahead of City's FA Cup clash with Burnley he was pictured arriving at training in a Lumma CLR SV Range Rover, which he may feel is better suited to nipping in and out of the city.

The up-market, high-spec version of the popular 4x4 starred as one of James Bond's motors in the film Spectre and can come with up to 630 horsepower.

It is similar to a grey Range Rover he has previously been spotted in out and about in the city centre and Hale in previous months and could well be a newly-customised model.

However, rather off-brand for the Blues icon it was kitted out with red leather seats.

Aguero was famously involved in a car accident in Amsterdam in September 2017 - however he was the passenger in a taxi and was not driving.

He was travelling back to the airport after a trip to the Dutch capital on a day off and suffered a broken rib after the taxi skidded around a corner.

Paul Pogba

United's £90 million man Pogba is known to have expensive tastes and this is certainly the case when it comes to four wheels.

The 25 year-old is thought to have an array of vehicles.

Only this week his chauffeur driven Rolls Royce Wraith, worth between £250,000 and £300,000 hit the headlines after it was slapped with a sweary note and a parking ticket outside a Cheshire train station.

However Pogba is thought to have a fleet of luxury cars, and only last week was pictured in turbo-charged, high-powered Ferrari believed to be a Ferrari 812 Superfast, worth around £260,000. He's also been pictured in a Chevrolet on previous occasions outside United's Carrington training ground.

Benjamin Mendy

He's a lively character on and off the pitch (particularly on social media.)

And City defender Mendy is also a fan of statement motors.

The 24 year-old moved to Manchester after joining City from the rich-boys' playground of Monaco in 2017 so it's perhaps no surprise he is well used to turning heads.

He may hail from France but when it comes to four wheels his passion appears to be Italian.

After first arriving in the city, he was seen out and about in a sleek, black Ferrari F12 F2X worth between a cool quarter of a million quid and £300,000.

In July last year he was pictured arriving at the gates of the CFA in a bright yellow version of the same model.

It was widely reported to be a new purchase however the M.E.N understands he merely had it wrapped to change its appearance, a move becoming a common occurrence amongst the rich and famous.

However the City star, whose career at the Etihad has so far been ravaged by injuries, is currently off the road.

Last September he was banned from driving for a year after acquiring 24 points on his licence.

Alexis Sanchez

He's reportedly one of, if not the highest paid player in the Premier League.

So it's no surprise that the Chilean striker has a penchant one of the world's most expensive car brands - Bentleys.

During the his Arsenal days, and the early part of his United career he was spotted in a Bentley Continental GT worth around £150,000.

However last summer, he was seen to have upgraded after being pictured arriving at Carrington in a slightly more functional but similarly costly Bentley Bentayga, which are on the market for around £160,000.

With a 5950cc engine, it has a maximum speed of around 180 mph and can do 0-60 in just four seconds.

Pep Guardiola

His team play flashy football, but when it comes to cars, it appears the City boss has decided he has much simpler tastes.

Shortly after his arrival in Manchester he was seen arriving at City's training ground in a matte grey Bentley Flying Spur W12 S.

With a top speed of 202mph, the Flying Spur W12 has been hailed as the car firm’s fastest-ever four door vehicle.

With quilted leather seats and its own Wi-fi hotspot, the six-litre engine sports car can reach 0-60mph in just 4.2 seconds.

However, in recent years, he appears to have ditched it, or left at home, in favour of a much more modest car.

Instead he has now been setting off for the CFA in a £28,000 electric Nissan leaf, which he is said to drive as the Japanese firm are one of the club's sponsors.

Also, perhaps uniquely in modern football, he car pools with around three of four of his staff so is doing his bit to help environment.

Marcus Rashford

Like many of his teammates, United's Marcus Rashford has had a number of top-end motors during his relatively short career.

Since he burst onto the scene and broke into the Reds first team as a teenager, the 21 year-old from Wythenshawe has been seen in an Audi A3, Mercedes CLA Class and a Mercedes S Class Coupe, roughly worth a combined £230,000.

However, his current car of choice is slightly more modest than many other of his contemporaries.

He is regularly spotted arriving for training and matches in an Urban version of the Range Rover Velar, worth around £70,000.

Said to have all the mod-cons, including black and white leather seats, he has also apparently freshened up its look several times by having it wrapped.

Jesse Lingard

Like several of his teammates, United's midfielder Jesse Lingard has not one, but several luxuy motors.

During his career, the 26 year-old from Warrington has been seen in a Mercedes, Range Rover and two Bentleys.

However, the boyhood United fan knows what he likes and makes sure he has red touches on all of them.

He has a Mercedes-AMG C63 S Coupe (bottom right in the above collage), worth about £80,000 and like all his motors, he has gone for a matte black wrap with the Mercedes badge and detailing coloured in red.

Like many of his colleagues, he also has a Ranger Rover, a Sport SVR, and again has had it wrapped in black red detailing, to go with its red leather racing seats. They typically start at around £100,000, with all the mod cons so Lingard's could have set him back over £120,000.

Meanwhile, the homegrown talent is also a fan of homemade luxury with not one but two Bentleys.

The first is a classic-style Continental GT, worth around £200,000. Initially seen in a silver with chrome finish it's understood he's since had this wrapped in black.

And he has his latest addition, an £180,000 Bentayga which he has been seen arriving at Carrington in. United's training ground is reached via a dirt track which is handy as the SUV is designed to go off-road.

With a six litre, 5950cc engine and 600 brake horsepower Bentley say it is "unlike any other SUV" and has "the most technically advanced engine in its category."

Lingard's has a full custom matte black body kit and the famous Bentley wings logo coloured in red.
