A child was rushed to hospital and a car ended up on its roof following a collision in east Manchester.

Emergency services were called to Woodland Road, in Gorton, just after 8pm on Monday night (August 10).

Images taken at the scene show a white car resting on its roof close to the pavement on the residential street.

Police attended and the road was cordoned off for some time.

Two people were taken to hospital, NWAS say

The North West Ambulance Service NWAS says a child suffered a head injury and was taken to Manchester Children's Hospital following a collision between two vehicles.

An adult patient was taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary.

The road was cordoned off for some time

A North West Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 8.10pm to a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on Woodland Road.

“Three ambulances and a rapid response vehicle attended the scene. They treated a child and adult patient.

“The child was taken to Manchester Children's Hospital with a head injury, and another patient was taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary.”
