Pep Guardiola has given his verdict on Eden Hazard after the Belgian winger secured a move from Chelsea to Real Madrid.

Madrid have made several major signings this summer, of which Hazard is the most expensive, as Zinedine Zidane gets to work on revamping Madrid's squad after their disappointing 2018-19 campaign.

"The player they’ve signed from Chelsea is a very, very, very good player,” said Guardiola.

“It’s an amazing signing. He’s one of the best players I’ve seen. They’re going to have a lot of fun watching him.”

Meanwhile, City have no intention of signing a player as high-profile as Hazard this summer as the MEN revealed Guardiola is keen to add just two players to his squad.

City are targeting a holding midfielder, with Atletico Madrid's Rodri at the top of their list of targets. Tanguy Ndombele of Lyon and Real Madrid's Marcos Llorente are also under consideration.

And the Blues are eyeing a centre-back following Vincent Kompany's departure.

Harry Maguire is on Guardiola's radar but City are not expected to meet Leicester's £90million valuation of the player.

Nicolas Otamendi was expected to go this summer after a frustrating season spent largely on the sidelines, but Kompany’s departure is believed to have made him reconsider.
