An experienced Manchester United side beat Sheffield United 3-1 in a behind closed doors friendly at the club's Carrington training complex on Tuesday.
With the exception of long-term absentee Eric Bailly (knee), United have a fully-fit squad to choose from this month and do not have a midweek match until their Europa League opener on September 19.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer used 14 players in United's Premier League win over Chelsea and draw with Wolves and selected the same 18 players in each squad, and that has prompted the club to hastily arrange games to allow squad players some more competitive playing time.
Diogo Dalot, Matteo Darmian, Chris Smalling, Marcos Rojo, Fred and Alexis Sanchez did not travel to Wolves, where Phil Jones and Angel Gomes were present but both failed to make the matchday squad.
United fielded an XI that cost £130.8million against Sheffield United, who started new signings Phil Jagielka and Oli McBurnie, as well as former United prodigy Ravel Morrison.

The MEN understands United players who had not started in the draw at Wolves on Monday evening were given the option to play and Andreas Pereira, Mason Greenwood and Gomes scored in a 3-1 win. The full United starting XI was:
Sergio Romero, Dalot, Smalling, Jones, Darmian, Juan Mata, Nemanja Matic, Pereira, Gomes, Alexis Sanchez and Greenwood. James Garner is also believed to have figured.
Pereira was the only starter to have lined-up in a first-team game, having faced Chelsea in the season opener. The Brazilian came on at Wolves, where Mata and Greenwood also emerged again following their cameos against Chelsea.
