Scott McTominay has dropped a number of bombshells in a recent interview asking him for which Manchester United managers, strikers and captains he prefers.

The United midfielder chose Robin van Persie over Ruud van Nistelrooy when pushed on his favourite Dutch striking legend, while plumped for former Old Trafford skipper Bryan Robson over Roy Keane.

McTominay also picked Sir Alex Ferguson's hairdryer treatment over a telling-off from Jose Mourinho in the managers question while speaking to SportBible.

On the strikers, he said: "It's so difficult to choose. I'll never forget that goal Van Persie scored against Aston Villa, where [Wayne] Rooney played that ball over the top. I was at the game and it was incredible.

"Obviously, I'm a bit younger so I didn't witness Van Nistelrooy scoring every single week but his numbers were ridiculous. I'll probably sway towards Van Persie, but Van Nistelrooy is an absolute legend as well."

He was then asked which midfield dynamo between Robson and Keane he would have in his side.

"Difficult one. I'll go Bryan Robson," said McTominay.

"I've spoken to him a lot and going off the way he talks and what people have told me about him as a player and having watched him myself, he'd be a difficult one coming up against him."

On Mourinho and Ferguson, the United man added: "I wouldn't like to be on the receiving end of either [hairdryer], to be honest, but I've been on the receiving end of one from Jose, so I'll go with Sir Alex and see if he tops it."
