Valencia's Ferran Torres has insisted he is very happy playing in La Liga amid speculation that he could join Manchester United.

The 20-year-old is among the many names linked with a possible United summer transfer switch and has also been touted for Liverpool and a number of other high profile Premier League clubs.

Right-wing is a priority for United in terms of signings, but MEN Sport understands Jadon Sancho is the club's top target.

United have also identified David Brooks of Bournemouth, Schalke's Rabbi Matondo and Argentinian winger Thiago Almada as alternative options if they cannot land the Borussia Dortmund winger.

But that hasn't stopped links with Torres persisting, with the Spanish star responding to the speculation in recent days.

"For young people, La Liga is the best league there is," he told Spanish media outlet Club del Deportista. "It is helping me a lot and I am learning all the time.

"I think I have settled in Valencia and in the division.

"Things are going well for me even though the team is on a bad streak, although we think we are going to turn it around."

Given those comments and the fact Torres - contracted until June 2021 - has a £90million release clause, it looks unlikely that he'll make a move to United this summer.

The youngster has scored six goals and laid on six assists for Valencia in all competitions this season.
