Calling all Wagamama fans.

Your favourite restaurant is heading to south Manchester.

The Asian-inspired chain will open in Parrs Wood in East Didsbury later this year.

It will replace Tex Mex eatery Chiquitos.

Parrs Wood Entertainment Centre shared news of its latest arrival on social media on Friday afternoon.

The post read: "Woks up Didsbury!

As it stands, ramen enthusiasts have to travel into the city centre for their Wagamama fix, with MediaCityUK and the Trafford Centre being the next two closest restaurants.

There are currently no branches in the south Manchester or Stockport areas.

Wagamama has also made an application to Manchester City Council for a 'premises licence minor variation'.

This is understood to be for a change in the layout of the existing restaurant.

There are no plans to alter licenced hours or activities.

Parrs Wood Entertainment Centre is already home to a number of restaurants including Nando's, Frankie and Benny's and Bella Italia.

There is also a Cineworld, Grosvenor Casino, Tenpin bowling, and Travelodge hotel.
