Peter Hook & The Light will perform Joy Division albums Unknown Pleasures and Closer in full at two special concerts celebrating the legacy of the seminal post-punk band.

Hook was the bassist in the group until they disbanded after the suicide of frontman Ian Curtis, later regrouping as New Order with bandmates Bernard Sumner and Stephen Morris.

The shows next year will see Hook celebrate 10 years with The Light and commemorate four decades of Joy Division's influence.

Each concert will open with a set of New Order material before a full performance of Joy Division's 1979 debut Unknown Pleasures and their second and final studio album Closer, which was released shortly after Curtis's death in 1980.

The shows take place at London's O2 Academy Brixton on Friday, May 15, 2020, and Manchester's O2 Apollo on Saturday, May 16, 2020.

Tickets go on sale on Friday, April 26 at 10am from Ticketmaster .

The shows will raise money for the charities CALM and the Epilepsy Society in memory of Curtis.
