PREP SPORTS ROUNDUP: Minneota uses big first half to defeat YME, 68-35

GRANITE FALLS — The Minneota girls basketball team defeated Yellow Medicine East 68-35 on Monday.

Abby Rost led the way for the Vikings with 15 points while Abby Hennen added 12 and Morgan Hennen had 10. Abby Rost led in rebounds with six while Abby Hennen led in assists with five.

Madison Hinz led the way for the Sting with 15 points while Hannah Stark and Shelby Mortenson each added six and Lauren McCosh had four. Mortenson led in rebounds with nine while Stark added seven and McCosh had six. Hinz led in assists with three.

Minneota (3-0) will face Lakeview on Friday at 7:15 p.m. while YME (0-2) will face RTR on Thursday at 7:15 p.m.

Savanna Louwagie and Shelby Gravley led the way for the Lakers with 14 points each while Aubrey Kaczmarek added 11 and Kiana Imes had 10. Gravley and Kaitlynn Bot led in rebounds with five each while Jaci Hubbard led in assists with four.

Lakeview (1-0) will face TMB today at 7:15 p.m.

Hannah Jelen led the way for the Lancers with 17 points while Ryann Hansen added 11 and Charlotte Wright had eight. Aidyn Bruns led in rebounds with 10 while Maya Wente added eight. Jayla Hulzebos and Hansen led in assists with three each.

Kalleigh Carr led the way for the Knights with 18 points while Allie Christensen added seven and Shawna Thomsen had five.

Canby (1-0) will face TMB on Thursday at 7:15 p.m. while RTR (0-1) will face YME on Thursday at 7:15 p.m.
