SPRINGFIELD — An overheated electrical wire was the cause of a fire that broke out in the crawl space of a mobile home early Wednesday.
The small fire broke out shortly before 2 a.m. at 85 Mobile Home Way, Fire Capt. Brian Tetreault, a spokesman for the department, said.
The blaze was quickly extinguished and no injuries were reported. Damage was less than $1,000 and the resident was not displaced.
The Springfield Arson &Bomb Squad determined the overheated wire caused insulation to smolder
