U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren will travel to South Carolina this week to meet with voters in the early primary state as she mulls a 2020 Democratic presidential run.
The Massachusetts senator, who has tested out her White House message in Iowa and New Hampshire in recent weeks, will make her 2020 pitch directly to South Carolina voters during a Wednesday evening organizing event at Columbia College, her exploratory committee announced.
The 7 p.m. event will come one day after Warren is set to visit San Juan, Puerto Rico, and hold a “community conversation” about the island’s recovery from Hurricanes Irma and Maria.
Since announcing her 2020 exploratory committee on Dec. 31, the Massachusetts Democrat has crisscrossed the country in an effort to drum up support for her expected presidential campaign.
Days after after unveiling her White House ambitions, Warren held a series of events across Iowa -- a key state for presidential contenders.
Last week, meanwhile, the Democrat made her second trip to New Hampshire this month.
Warren hosted a Claremont “organizing event," where she introduced herself and fielded questions from New Hampshire voters living along the Vermont border -- an area of the state which heavily favored Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders' progressive message in 2016.
She previously made her pitch to New Hampshire voters during a similar event at Manchester Community College.
Warren is one of several Democrats eyeing a 2020 White House bid.
Other presidential hopefuls include: Juilan Castro, a former San Antonio mayor and secretary of Housing and Urban Development; U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, D-Hawaii; U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-New York; and U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris, D-California.
