A brush fire burned about 2 acres in Kalamaula Homestead on Molokai before it was extinguished Friday night, according to fire officials.

The fire was reported at 7:01 p.m. Friday on Hoomalu Drive.

Kaunakakai, Hoolehua and Pukoo engine companies responded along with a Kaunakakai tanker and battalion chief to the fire, which was brought under control at 7:30 p.m. and extinguished at 9:01 p.m.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
