Phillies prospect update: Adam Haseley goes deep as Reading falls to Harrisburg

Adam Haseley finished 1 for 4 with a two-run home run and a run scored on Saturday but Reading fell to Harrisburg, 3-2, at FNB Field.

Haseley, the organization’s No. 3 overall prospect according to MLB Pipeline, blasted his long ball in the sixth inning to account for the Fightins’ only offense of the day. The University of Virginia product is hitting .167 with a .551 OPS in 12 games. He has hit safely in four of his last six contests.

No. 9 prospect Mickey Moniak returned to the No. 2 hole on Saturday but finished 0 for 4. No. 13 prospect Arquimedes Gamboa went 1 for 2 with a pair of walks.

Harrisburg opened the scoring in the fourth inning thanks to a sacrafice fly by Rhett Wiseman, but Reading came back to take the lead with two-outs in the sixth through Haseley’s homer to right field.

Harrisburg answered with a pair of runs in the bottom of the ninth as Chuck Taylor singled home Luis Sardinas with two outs to give the Senators the victory.

Lexington 7, Lakewood 2

Alec Bohm finished 2 for 4 with a double on Saturday as Lakewood fell to Lexington, 7-2, at FirstEnergy Park.

Bohm, the Phillies’ first-round selection (third overall) in 2018, is tearing the cover off the ball early in the season. He is hitting a robust .345 with a healthy .924 OPS in 16 games. He has hit safely in seven of his last eight games — including a three-hit effort on Friday.

Clearwater 2, Tampa 1

Andrew Brown collected his first win of the season Saturday with five solid innings of work as Clearwater held off Tampa, 2-1, at Specturm Field.

Brown, 21, was a 13th-round selection of the Phillies in 2016. He allowed just five hits and zero runs while striking out one. He did not issue a walk.

No. 11 prospect Jhailyn Ortiz finished 0 for 4 with a pair of strikeiuts, while Edgar Cabral collected both RBIs for the Threshers.
