Easton graduate Abby Schaffer elected to Pennsylvania Track Hall of Fame

Abby Schaffer, a two-time PIAA pole vault champion from Easton, has been elected to the Pennsylvania High School Track and Field Hall of Fame.

Schaffer was an elite pole vaulter at Easton, graduating in 2008 with two PIAA Class 3A gold medals. She also won three medals, including gold in 2008, at the Pa. Track & Field Coaches Association indoor championships.

After high school, Schaffer competed at Moravian College, where she won four Landmark Conference championships and two NCAA Division III titles. Schaffer is an assistant women’s track coach at Moravian College.

Schaffer will be inducted March 1 in a ceremony at Penn State.

The Pennsylvania High School Track and Field Hall of Fame was established in 1995 to recognized the state’s top athletes, coaches and officials.
