Mobile Pantry Saturday in Trenton

Friday, October 18, 2019

TRENTON, Neb. — The Mobile Pantry truck from the Food Bank for the Heartland in Omaha plans a stop Saturday, Oct. 19, in Trenton, at the TCDC Building at 406 E. First, a block east of downtown Trenton.

Shoppers can come by between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. CT, and bring their own bags and boxes, and wagons or carts to carry it all. The handicapped and elderly are encouraged to bring some "muscle" to help with the boxes.

Boxes are not available on site, and, due to liability issues, there is no delivery service.

There is no charge to shop. No identification or income verification are required, although shoppers must be Nebraska residents.

Each household may shop for itself and only one other household, not numerous households.

Mobile Pantry events across Nebraska are sponsored by the Food Bank for the Heartland based in Omaha. The Trenton event is sponsored locally by the Hitchcock County Pantry in Culbertson.

The Food Bank's state-wide Mobile Pantry program is designed to provide food where there is great need and limited resources.
