No way you can peruse the tap list at Yard House and say nothing interests you.
The massive beer-and-food emporium offers a whopping 130 beers on tap. They call it the “world’s largest selection of draft beer,” and who are we to argue?
You can check out the array for yourself when the Yard House opens April 29 at The Veranda in Concord. This second Bay Area location for the growing chain arrives eight years after the first, at San Jose’s Santana Row.
At 16,000 square feet, this restaurant will seat 430 customers inside and outside. According to general manager Rajesh Gharmalkar, who has been with Yard House for 11 years, about 200 employees will be hired here.
The Concord taps will feature a number of local brews — Affliction Amber from Concord’s very own Epidemic Ales, Oaktown from Calicraft of Walnut Creek and Smooth Ride from Del Cielo Brewing of Martinez — as well as state, national and international choices.
The massive menu is heavy on beer-friendly snacks, appetizers, pizza and street tacos but also offers a number of entrees, salads and more.
First launched in Long Beach, the chain has grown to about 20 restaurants in Southern California and about 50 in other states, with concentrations in Florida and Texas. The city of Las Vegas has three.
By the way, Yard House derives its name from a “yard” of beer, a glass approximately 3 feet high with a bulb at its base. Yard House doesn’t actually serve true yards anymore but half-yards, which contain about 32 ounces of suds.
