RICHMOND — The driver of a pickup truck that hit and killed a man early Friday kept on moving and didn’t stop, police said.

Authorities did not immediately release the name of the pedestrian, pending notification of his family He died at the scene after being hit around 12:35 a.m. at Barrett Avenue and 20th Street, Richmond police spokesman Lt. Matt Stonebraker said.

The man was crossing the street when he was hit. Police did not say immediately whether he was in a crosswalk.

Police had not information immediately regarding the truck in the hit-and-run.
