Community composting workshop

Campbell’s Public Works Maintenance Division is partnering with the University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE) and Santa Clara County for a July 27 composting class.

Master Composters will explain how to build compost piles and worm bins, and how to apply the resulting material to landscapes and gardens.

The class starts at 10 a.m. at the Campbell Community Center, 1 W. Campbell Ave., room Q-84

Registration is required at least 48 hours in advance of the class at https://ucanr.edu/survey/survey.cfm?surveynumber=26672.

Game design for teens

Teens ages 13-18 can learn how to design and create their own board games July 24 at the Campbell Library.

Participants will learn how to create rules, set game goals, and design and play their original board games. All supplies will be provided.

The workshop is set for 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the library’s community room. Register at https://www.sccl.org.

Climate change book club

The climate change book club is set to meet July 23 at the Campbell Library. The club’s goal is to learn more about an important and engaging topic through well-researched and accessible material.

The club will be reading “Storming the Wall: Climate Change, Migration and Homeland Security” by Todd Miller; copies are available at the Campbell Library.

The meeting is set for 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the library’s community room.
