CONCORD — A bicyclist died early Friday after being hit by a car, police said.

The 54-year-old women was not identified immediately. According to police, the vehicle hit her around 6:20 a.m. as it traveled north on Port Chicago Highway near Panoramic Drive. They did not immediately provide details about how the collision happened.

The driver, a 68-year-old Vallejo resident, stayed at the scene and cooperated with police, who said that alcohol or drug impairment did not appear to be a factor.

Police closed Port Chicago Highway for about 90 minutes for the investigation.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are seeking witnesses. They can call Officer Katan Nanthasiri at 925-671-5096.
