MARTINEZ — The Contra Costa District Attorney’s office has filed a murder charge against a Pleasant Hill man who was arrested earlier this week in connection with a fatal shooting.
Harminder Singh Aujla, 40, was charged Thursday with murdering 39-year-old Michael Olsen. The charge carries an enhancement alleging use of a firearm.
Olsen was shot and killed Monday afternoon, on the 2300 block of Stanwell Drive in Concord. Police were called to the area around 12:40 p.m.
A day after the killing, police announced Aujla had been arrested. Investigators say the killing was not random, but have not disclosed the suspected motive.
Aujla is due in court for an arraignment hearing Friday. He remains in custody at the county jail in lieu of $1 million bail.
