Previous announcement:

Target, which had stores vandalized during protests over the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, said it was closing some stores across the country, in most cases temporarily.

“We are heartbroken by the death of George Floyd and the pain it is causing communities across the country,” the Minneapolis-based company said in a statement on its website Sunday that lists the stores.

“Our focus will remain on our team members’ safety and helping our community heal,” the company added, saying it would pay workers affected by closures for up to 14 days of scheduled hours during store closures, including their COVID-19 premium pay. Workers would also be able to work at other Target stores nearby that remained open.

Here is the list of California Target stores that the company said were closed. Those in bold are in the Bay Area.
