Police investigate after woman followed by three men in Chichester

A police investigation is underway after a woman reported being following by a group of men in Chichester.

The woman called the police after being following by three men near Oaklands Park on Monday (May 4) before stopping to talk to a runner 'for safety'.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: "The incident happened during the early evening of Monday (May 4) close to the rugby club at Oaklands Park. She said that three black men, all of slim or skinny build and in their early 20s followed her until she stopped for safety to talk to a runner.

"The men were understood to have stopped and talked to an elderly woman with a dog.

"Police have increased patrols and visited the area to check for CCTV, but there have been no other reports of a similar group behaving suspiciously.

"Anyone with information about the incident or who may have had a similar experience with the men is asked to report online or call 101 quoting serial 1489 of 04/05."
