What will the Broncos do at backup quarterback and quarterbacks coach?

Now that the Broncos have a new offensive coordinator, it’ll be interesting to see the direction the organization takes on both fronts.

Since there’s not much in terms of Denver Broncos news right now, this is pretty important.

While we won’t get the answer to what the Broncos do at backup quarterback until March, we should get the announcement on the quarterbacks coach in the next week or so ... you would think.

On the MHR Radio Podcast, Adam Malnati and I said the most likely choice is the most reported/rumored name and that’s Mike Shula. Given his connections to new Denver offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur, it only makes sense.

As for the backup quarterback, I told Adam to keep an eye on two names — Sam Bradford and Josh McCown.

We also link the Pro Baseball Hall of Fame and the induction of Colorado Rockies right fielder Larry Walker to the Broncos. It seems weird, but it works and is a great discussion. On a side note, major congrats to Walker. One of the best I’ve ever seen play the game. Hopefully Steve Atwater gets the opportunity to live that same experience in a little over a week in Miami.
