AN AWARD-winning Herbrandston guest house welcomed local businesses, suppliers and politicians for a celebration breakfast to mark National B&B Week.
Field's Lodge, on the outskirts of Milford Haven, is a boutique B&B run by Jayne Hancock and her team.
On Monday, Jayne cooked up a tasty breakfast for some special guests, including Preseli-Pembrokeshire AM Paul Davies, Mayor of Milford Haven Cllr Rose Gray, and Cllr David Lloyd - Cabinet Member for Lifelong Learning at Pembrokeshire County Council.
The event is one of many planned between March 18 and 24 to celebrate the more than 20,000 hardworking B&B hosts across the UK who are helping boost tourism.
It was also supporting the Family Holiday Association, the official charity of National B&B Week, which provides much-needed breaks for families coping with issues, such as mental illness, long term sickness and domestic violence, who would not otherwise be able to go on holiday.
Said Jayne: "I am delighted to highlight the impact on the local community, attractions, cafes, restaurants, businesses, local economy and schools a small B&B has."
She said local B&Bs were also one of the biggest employers in the county.
Minister for Arts, Heritage, and Tourism, Michael Ellis, said Britain's independent B&Bs were 'world class', and showed the country was 'open for business'.
He added: "I hope we can encourage even more people to support British tourism and experience the superb places on offer all across the nation.”
National B&B Week takes place from March 18 to 24.
Working with eviivo and the wider industry, B&Bs across the UK are offering guests extra perks such as free champagne on arrival, unlimited ice cream and complimentary afternoon tea.
