6 Things to Do in Milwaukee This Weekend: Aug 7-9

Beer garden in a box, waffles and more this weekend in Milwaukee.

1. South Shore Park Beach Clean-Up 

FRIDAY, AUG. 7 FROM 5:30-7 P.M.

Join an Adopt-a-Beach cleanup this weekend and help beautify Milwaukee. You can join anytime and no experience is needed. Friends of South Shore Park encourage bringing along your own bucket or recycled bag to reduce waste. 

2. Afro Art Pop-Up Show 

FRIDAY, AUG. 7 FROM 6-9 P.M.

Support local black artists this weekend at a Black Creative Art Show hosted by Vino Third Ward. Tickets are $15 and include one glass of wine at the show. All proceeds are going to BLOC by BLOC Charity, Black Leaders Organizing for Communities. The show will be set up as a one-way walkthrough due to coronavirus safety restrictions.

3. Sister Water Beer Garden in a Box 

SATURDAY, AUG. 8 FROM 10 A.M.-1 P.M.

Swing by the St. Joseph Covenant and pick up a beer garden in a box, including A 64-ounce growler with your choice of freshly tapped Sprecher’s beers or root beers, two commemorative 2020 Sister Water Beer Garden pint glasses, two 5-ounce “take-and-bake” soft pretzels and a jar of Sprecher’s delicious gourmet spicy brown mustard. Each box is $50 and is only available as a pre-order. Pre-order here

4. JustVeggiez Curbside Vegan PopUp at UpStart Kitchen

SATURDAY, AUG. 8 FROM 11 A.M.-6 P.M.

If you’re looking for some vegan food this weekend, you should head to the JustVeggiez curbside pickup. You can pre-order your meal up until the beginning of the event and your food will be safely delivered to you by an employee in the UpStart Kitchen parking lot. 

5. Long Hello Virtual Opening 

SATURDAY, AUG. 8 FROM 6-7:30 P.M.

The Green Gallery is presenting a new art showcase called Long Hello. The art was created during the pandemic or shortly before and reflects the tumultuous mood of the world during this time. 6. Waffle Sundays with Press

SUNDAY, AUG. 9 FROM 9 A.M.-NOON

Hawthorne Coffee Roasters is teaming up with Press and serving you coffee, brunch, cocktails and waffles. All seating will be outdoors and Hawthorne asks that all patrons follow its COVID-19 safety protocols found on the event’s Facebook page. Enjoy a beautiful Sunday brunch this weekend!
