The price of a luxury home fell by £500,000 after Jason Manford joked it would be the perfect pad for comic book hero Iron Man.

The comedian, 33, wrote on Facebook: “I found Iron Man’s house. If we all clubbed together, we could have it for a couple of hours each.”

It went viral and the estate agent hoped it would give the £3.5million home, in Abersoch, Gwynedd, a boost.

But the price has been slashed just six weeks later to £2.95million.

Manford wrote: “Still can’t afford it.”

The home is said to boast some of the best views in Wales.

The property was put on the market two years ago by Manchester-born chartered accountant Stuart Sim who commissioned the home in 2009.

It went on to win the LABC (Local Authority Building Control) building excellence award for best small housing development.

Abersoch estate agents Beresford Adams describe Cilgeraint as: “A stunning contemporary beach side home with spectacular panoramic views.”

As well as its sumptuous outlook the house boasts its own car parking deck; a living grass roof which is currently in flower; Italian porcelain tiles; American walnut flooring and staircases; four ensuite bedrooms; floor to ceiling glazing on the main living level opening on to terracing and a sun deck affording private access to a beach below.

Beresford Adams says of the house: “Cilgeraint is situated in an enviable position lying directly above the harbour beach on the approach to the village of Abersoch from the direction of Llanbedrog and Pwllheli and within a 10-minute gentle stroll into the centre of the village with its excellent variety of cafes, restaurants and bars.

“For the boating enthusiast there are boat launching facilities just down the hill from the property and close by on the Pen Bennar headland lies the South Caernarfonshire yacht club together with a challenging 18-hole golf course.”

A unique 3,700 square feet, three storey, four ensuite bedroom home, it is burrowed into the headland and perched above the beach, providing uninterrupted views from every room across the harbour and Cardigan Bay to the mountains of Snowdonia.

It is within walking distance of the centre of Abersoch which has some of the highest property prices in North Wales.
