Sex doll customers are asking for models to be made that look like their mates' girlfriends, it's claimed.

Manufacturers Silicone Sex World say celebrity lookalike dolls aren't as popular as you might imagine, with some punters preferring more 'every day' looking plastic.

Product specialist Andy Phelps told The Daily Star Online : “We do get customers who enquire about celebrity dolls although they are not as popular as you may think.

“We do get some strange requests for dolls, such as dolls that look like friends’ girlfriends.”

The bizarre occurrence echoed previous comments by Sex Doll Official founder Jade Stanley.

Ms Stanley, who runs an adult shop near Birmingham, told the Star: “In terms of customisation, it’s anything whatsoever – celebrity, dead spouse or someone you fancy.

“It really does vary, you get people asking for a Kim Kardashian , or a girl next door.

“It’s just so different across the board.”

Sex dolls are one of the most expensive products in the sex toy business, estimated as a whole to be worth a staggering £38billion by 2020.

Dolls can cost up to £15,000, and now there are even brothels where people can try the dolls springing up across Europe and America.

Channel 5 documentary, The Sex Business: Me And My Sex Doll, recently delved into the world of the lifelike sex toys.
