A lawyer for the alleged victims of Jeffrey Epstein has suggested the financier did not kill himself - but was murdered in his jail cell.
Spencer Kuvin said a prison source familiar with the jail had told him to not believe the official explanation for the billionaire paedophile's death.
The worker told Mr Kuvin that it was 'highly unlikely' Epstein took his own life while awaiting trial over claims he ran a sex trafficking ring.
He was found dead with a sheet wrapped around his neck in New York's Metropolitan Correctional Center on August 10.
Mr Kuvin said his prison source said the cell would have been covered by CCTV, meaning a verifiable account of what happened should be available.
The lawyer told The Sun: "The first words out of his (the prison supervisor's) mouth to be honest were, 'Don't believe what you are hearing' in regards to Epstein's death.
"He said every square inch of that place is covered by cameras. It was designed that way because of super high value targets that are kept there such as terrorists, drug dealers and other extremely high value targets or suspects like Mr Epstein.
"If reports that there is no CCTV are true - it would mean that they'd either shut the cameras off or they were not functioning in some way.
"He says there's no way that they would not have been able to see what was going on."
He added that his source was suspicious about why Epstein's cell mate was moved just before his death.
The lawyer previously predicted that the financier would not live to go on trial, due to his friendships with the rich and powerful.
He said that if Epstein did not actually kill himself, the most likely cause of his death was that a fellow prisoner was paid to murder him and make it look like suicide.
