Liverpool may have made their best start to a Premier League campaign by taking 30 points from their first 12 games, but the Reds are still scouting new players.
Jurgen Klopp and his technical team, which includes chief scout Barry Hunter, are always looking for young players with potential, who fit their criteria.
They want talent Klopp can improve and are not scared to smash transfer records to sign the right players, as they have proved twice this year by paying out £75million for Virgil van Dijk and £65million for Alisson.
Here's five players they could target in the new year:
1) Christian Pulisic
Klopp has known about Pulisic since the USA star joined Borussia Dortmund in February 2016 aged 16 in his final months in charge of the Bundesliga side.
He has noted his progress and the forward scored twice in a pre-season friendly win over Liverpool in July.
Chelsea are also keen and Dortmund insist the 20-year-old will not be leaving before the summer.
2) Jean-Clair Todibo
Todibo has broken through at Ligue 1 Toulouse this season aged just 18. At 6ft 3ins tall, the centre-half is imposing and has great potential.
He is also out of contract in June, meaning he could be available next summer for just a few million pounds in compensation.
This has sparked much interest in him with Liverpool and Wolves keen.
3) Kerem Demirbay
Demirbay started out at Dortmund under Klopp and played for their youth sides and second string before joining Hamburg in 2013.
The 25-year-old has blossomed since joining Hoffenheim in 2016 and scored the goal to earn them European qualification for the first time.
He played for Turkey from Under-19 to Under-21 levels, before opting for Germany, the country of his birth, and he has won two senior caps.
4) Luka Jovic
Jovic has already scored 12 goals during his second season on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt from Benfica, including five in one Bundesliga game against Fortuna Düsseldorf in October.
The Serbian international, who is just 20, has managed nine goals and two assists in nine Bundesliga appearances to become a wanted man.
Bizarrely Benfica sent him out on loan to Frankfurt in 2017 because he could not get a game with them.
5) Dael Fry
Fry is the latest talent to roll over the production line at Middlesbrough.
The centre-half made his Boro debut aged just 17 in the Championship in August 2015 before spending the 2016-17 campaign on loan at Rotherham.
He has successfully stepped into the shoes of the departed Ben Gibson this season and has made 13 appearances under Tony Pulis to become part of their promotion-chasing side.
