Michael Owen, David Seaman, Jamie Carragher and Glen Johnson are returning to play for England in Soccer Aid this summer.

The game for Unicef will take place at Chelsea's Stamford Bridge on Sunday June 16.

The England team will be co-managed managed by Sam Allardyce and Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid.

They are up against the Soccer Aid World XI, which will be jointly managed by Harry Redknapp and Susanna’s co-presenter, Piers Morgan.

England will have their work cut out in west London.

Robbie Keane, Michael Essien, Didier Drogba, Usain Bolt, Niall Horan, Ricardo Carvalho, Martin Compston, Danny O’Carroll, Billy Wingrove and Kem Cetinay have already signed up.

Owen said: “I’m thrilled to be playing in Soccer Aid for Unicef again. It’s a fantastic cause and I’m looking forward to taking on a strong Soccer Aid World XI.

"After winning it last year, I am hopeful that we will retain the Soccer Aid for Unicef Shield.”

The former Liverpool , Real Madrid , Newcastle United and Manchester United forward will be taking part in his second Soccer Aid for Unicef game, having previously added the Soccer Aid Shield to his FA Cup, UEFA Cup and two League Cups. He made 89 appearances for England, scoring 40 goals – the fifth highest total in England history.

Ex-Arsenal keeper Seaman said: “I’m a Soccer Aid for Unicef veteran having played in all the matches since 2006! I’ve always loved being part of the game and I’m looking forward to playing in front of a big London crowd again.

"The atmosphere at Stamford Bridge was always one I enjoyed and I am sure this match will be the same.”

Seaman has been ever-present in Soccer Aid since its inception in 2006. The former Arsenal man won two Premier League and four FA Cups in his career, whilst representing England at two World Cups. He won 75 caps for his country, including a starring role in Euro ’96.

Carragher can't wait and said: “I have loved playing in the Soccer Aid match previously and am really excited to be there once again. We have an unbelievable line-up this year and we’re hoping it will be a great day for the fans and that we can help Unicef raise vital funds.”

His former Liverpool team-mate Johnson said: “I’m delighted to have been asked to play – it's the first time I’ve been part of the game.

"This match is always one I’ve always watched over the years, so I’m looking forward to seeing some old faces and meeting some of the celebrities taking part.

So far, the following players have been confirmed: Robbie Keane, Michael Essien, Didier Drogba, Usain Bolt, Niall Horan, Ricardo Carvalho, Martin Compston, Danny O’Carroll, Billy Wingrove and Kem Cetinay.

Allardyce and Susanna Reid will jointly manage the England side and they will have Jamie Redknapp, Joe Cole, Mo Farah, Joe Wicks, Mark Wright, Jeremy Lynch and Ben Shepherd to pick from.

The match will be broadcast live on ITV and STV. The money raised will go towards Unicef’s vital work protecting children in danger around the world
