Liverpool are heading back to the United States this summer for their pre-season tour.

The Reds have confirmed they will play three matches during a week-long trip.

Jurgen Klopp will take on former club Borussia Dortmund in Indiana, in what will be the first ever football match at the historic Notre Dame Stadium.

The clash at the 77,000-capacity stadium will be played on Friday July 19, before they take on Sevilla in Boston two days later.

Liverpool's last match at Fenway Park, the home of the Boston Red Sox was in 2014.

The final match of the tour will be at the Yankee Stadium in New York on July 24 against Sporting Lisbon.

Liverpool have opted against taking part in the International Champions Cup this summer, instead opting to organise their fixtures themselves.

The Reds will also be heading to North America this summer rather than Asia.

Liverpool managing director and chief commercial officer Billy Hogan said: "Pre-season tour is an important time of the year for our first team to prepare for the upcoming season while also providing the opportunity to bring the first team to our fans around the world.

“We’re heading to three incredible locations this year. Each of the stadiums has their own deep-rooted heritage similar to our own and we’ll face three great opposition teams in Borussia Dortmund, Sevilla and Sporting.

“This trip to the USA will be very special and we’re really looking forward to having as many of our supporters with us along the way.”
