Jace Williams announced via Twitter Monday afternoon that he has received a scholarship offer from Central Michigan University.

It is Williams’ first offer.

Williams, a 6-foot-3, 170-pound sophomore was a Grand Rapids Press Dream Team first-team selection this past fall for the Cougars, who were a state semifinalist in Division 4. Williams had 741 yards in receptions and caught 18 touchdown passes for the 11-2 Cougars.

“Jace really came on strong this year and is just scratching the surface of how good he can be,” Catholic Central coach Todd Kolster told MLive.com last fall. “He is very long and athletic, with great body control and ball skills. Because (quarterback) Joe Collins was able to spread the ball around to a few different guys, we were able to utilize some of Jace’s strengths to get the ball to him in situations where he was able to score, and he developed himself into a dominant threat on offense.”

Williams also was a Michigan Associated Press Division 3-4 All-State honorable mention selection.
