A charter bus en route from Benton Harbor to Chicago struck a semi-truck after one of its passengers grabbed the wheel in northwestern Indiana.

According to the Associated Press, the incident occurred on an Indian Trails bus that was traveling on I-94 when 36-year-old Pedro Garcia Rodriguez of Chicago moved to the front and allegedly “grabbed the wheel in an apparent attempt to gain control.”

Both the bus and the truck left I-94 after the collision, which occurred in Indiana’s Porter County, near Chesterton.

The bus was carrying 51 passengers, three of whom complained of pain, but Rodriguez was the only person taken to a hospital.

He was later arrested, according to the Associated Press.
