No. 1 player in Illinois, Trevor Keegan, commits to Michigan

Michigan has another offensive lineman for its 2019 recruiting class.

Trevor Keegan, a four-star tackle and the No. 1 player in the state of Illinois, gave his verbal commitment to the Wolverines on Friday, he announced during a live ceremony at his high school.

Recruiting website 247Sports lists Keegan at 6-foot-6 and 310 pounds (recruiting profile), and as No. 173 overall in 2019. He has scholarship offers from more than two-dozen schools, including Georgia, Ohio State, Penn State and Alabama.

Keegan played at Crystal Lake South High School in Crystal Lake, Ill.

After his commitment, Michigan’s coaching staff celebrated on social media, with recruiting director Matt Dudek, tight ends coach Sherrone Moore and offensive line coach Ed Warinner all tweeting after Keegan’s announcement. (Coaches are not allowed to discuss recruits by name, nor reference them, before signing day.)

Keegan joins four-star guards Nolan Rumler (Akron, Ohio) and Karsen Barnhart (Paw Paw), four-star tackle Trente Jones (Loganville, Ga.), three-star guard Zach Carpenter (Cincinnati, Ohio) and three-star tackle Jack Stewart (New Canaan, Conn.) as offensive linemen already committed to Michigan for 2019.
