Suspect in shooting, police standoff in Jackson County arraigned

JACKSON COUNTY., MI – The suspect in a shooting that left one injured and resulted in a police standoff is charged with one count each of assault with intent to murder, breaking and entering first-degree home invasion and felony firearms.

Jacob Fuller, 28, was arraigned in Jackson County District Court on Thursday, June 13.

Fuller allegedly shot a 25-year-old man in the abdomen at around 4:30 a.m. on June 11 in the man’s home in the 5000 block of Welch Lake Road. The man was taken by ambulance to Jackson’s Henry Ford Allegiance Health with life-threatening injuries, police said. He remains in critical condition, they said.

Fuller was found at the scene but fled to the 3000 block of Seymour Road, where he was found by officers with the Blackman-Leoni Township Department of Public Safety and Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, who created a perimeter, police said.

The Michigan State Police Emergency Support Team apprehended the suspect around 9:30 a.m. after the police standoff ended without incident, police said.

Fuller is lodged in Jackson County Jail with a $500,000 cash surety bond. He is scheduled for a probable cause hearing on June 21.
