Jackson celebrates third annual Pride Parade and Festival

JACKSON, MI - People lined the streets of downtown Jackson Saturday for the third-annual Pride Parade and Festival.

A week of pride events concluded with the Aug. 24 event. The parade started at St. John’s United Church of Christ, headed north on Mechanic Street and ended at the festival entrance on Jackson Street and Michigan Avenue.

Attorney General Dana Nessel was the grand marshal for this year’s parade and festival and was one of four keynote speakers, including the Jackson Mayor Derek Dobies and Jackson Councilwoman Colleen Sullivan.

Food trucks, vendors and a kids area were available for attendees to enjoy. Performances from bands, including SuperKnova, filled the stage during the afternoon and a drag show ended the festival.
