Teen shot near Jackson intersection, police say

JACKSON, MI - Police are investigating a shooting after a Jackson teen was admitted to the hospital with a gunshot wound Thursday night.

Officers were called at 10:13 p.m., Sept. 20, to Henry Ford Allegiance Heath for a report of a teenage male who was being treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, Jackson Police Lt. Sergio Garcia said.

Details surrounding the shooting are unclear as the teen has not been cooperative with police, Garcia said. But it is believed the teen was shot somewhere near the intersection of Porter and Waterloo streets on Jackson's north side, he said.

The teen is still undergoing treatment and is expected to recover, Garcia said.

No arrests have been made and the incident remains under investigation.
