Hunter killed in Bath Township identified by police

BATH TWP., MI - Police have identified the man shot and killed while hunting in Bath Township Friday night.

Chong Yang, 68, of Lansing, was found dead Friday, Nov. 16, near the 8500 block of E. Clark Road, three miles east of Bath, by police responding to a 911 call, according to the Bath Township Police Department.

Yang was deer hunting, wearing hunter's orange clothing, on the public property when he suffered a fatal gunshot wound, police said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have questioned numerous individuals about the shooting, but no suspects have been identified, police said.

The Clinton County Sheriff's Office and the Michigan State Police are assisting in the ongoing investigation.
