Michigan weekend forecast includes grilling weather, run at 50 degrees for Detroit, Ann Arbor, Lansing

This coming weekend in Michigan won’t be a typical February weekend. Here are the quick details as to why you’ll feel like it’s late March.

First off, we don’t have to worry about precipitation or any snowy travels. We have to worry more about where the heck we left our sunglasses, since we haven’t used the shades much.

Let’s start with a cloud forecast, or lack of cloud forecast.

saturday clouds

Cloud percentage forecast for 1 p.m. Saturday. A number of zero means an entirely clear sky. (weathermodels.com)

The forecast above for early afternoon Saturday shows we should have a lot of sun. We could always get a random patch of high clouds at this time of year, but you would still see the sun through it.

Sunday clouds

Cloud forecast for 1 p.m. Sunday, February 23, 2020.

We should still have a decent amount of sunshine Sunday, but the clouds from our next stormy stretch will move in at some point Sunday.

Temperatures will be warmer than normal for both Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday hights

High temperature forecast Saturday, February 22, 2020

Part of western Lower and northwest Lower will only get into the upper 30s Saturday. That’s still warmer than average. The rest of Lower Michigan will bask in temperatures in the 40s.

sunday high temps

High temperature forecast for Sunday, February 23, 2020

Kalamazoo, Lansing, Jackson, Ann Arbor, Detroit, Flint and Saginaw may all touch 50 degrees Sunday afternoon.

wind saturday

Wind forecast for 1 p.m. Saturday, February 22, 2020

While there will be a breeze Saturday afternoon, it won’t be real windy for these warm of temperatures. Usually the wind has to be cranking to get much warmer than normal in winter. I’d call it a southwest wind at 10 mph to 15 mph.

sunday wind

Wind forecast at 1 p.m. Sunday, February 23, 2020

Sunday seems like the pick day of the weekend for some winter grilling. How about some sun, temperatures near 50 degrees and a wind only around 10 mph.

No weather problems are on the way this weekend. Expect just the problem of whether or not the grill will light up.
